“Without music, life would be a mistake.”

-Nietzsche

Yannick Monier is a composer and producer currently based in Boston and France. First learning music and composition by himself, he later entered the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated in Film Scoring and Composition, and was the recipient of the school merit-based scholarship award for outstanding achievement, and of the Southers Leroy Composition Award.

Studying with composers such as Richard Carrick, Ruth Mendelson, Gabriele Vanoni, and Andreas Bjørck, and having had masterclasses and reading with composers and ensembles such as David Lang, Maria Schneider, and the Mivos String Quartet, he nonetheless keeps a unique personal voice that he developed being self-taught.  Fascinated by world cultures, he led researches and studies in traditional music, including the ones from Japan, India, Indonesia, Ireland, and Southern France/Northern Spain.

His original compositions were performed and recorded by diverse ensembles, including the Neither/Nor Ensemble, or the Underground Choir.  He also worked on projects such as the documentary film ''BlazeAid'' by Jordan Edmeades.

Being an internationally based composer, he is currently working on diverse projects including music for multimedia and personal compositions, and remains open to any collaboration and artistic project.
